Hawkes Bay Half
I’m not much into running (except to the fridge) but Junior is an exceptional runner and has been chipping away at a range of personal goals for the past 3 years. I have mildly attempted to join him but being inside my own mind for more than 5 minutes while my lungs are dying is just not for me right now.
I’ve seen him do a range of Marathons and the discipline required is not for the faint of heart.
Back in May, he took on the Hawke’s Bay Marathon, and it wasn’t just any run. He ran a half marathon in 79 minutes, smashing his personal best and showing just how far dedication (and a lot of early morning training & coffee) can take you,
For our family, it wasn’t just about the time on the clock. It was about the journey: the countless weekend runs, the excitement of tracking his progress, and the little cheer squad we became along the way. Watching him cross that finish line, absolutely exhausted, was a reminder of the power of perseverance and support.
Here’s to celebrating every step, every finish line, and every moment in between.
