The Botes Family

There are few things more special than capturing family memories when grandparents are visiting from overseas. On a warm, golden evening in Palmerston North’s Esplanade, I had the joy of photographing Shovanne and Jean, their beautiful daughters, and Jean’s parents who were here from South Africa.

The Esplanade gave us the perfect backdrop, soft light streaming through the trees, laughter echoing down the paths, and little moments of connection between generations. From playful giggles with the girls to tender smiles shared between parents and grandparents, every frame felt full of love and joy.

This session was especially meaningful for me, as I know Shovanne and Jean through church and as friends. Getting to document their family in such a precious season, with the added gift of having grandparents close – was an honour. These are the kinds of photos I know will be treasured for years to come.
